Hello! Welcome to Crow's Collies! We are excited that you've visited us! Crow's Collies is located in Central Texas just outside of Austin. Currently we have six AKC registered Rough Standard Collies, 2 males and 4 females.           

   My husband and I have always loved dogs, but it wasn't until we purchased an AKC Standard Collie that we realized how smart this breed really was. In our opinion, there is not a better pet than a Collie. For generations, Collies have been found loyal companions. This exquisite animal was bred in Scotland and England for it's herding abilities during the 17th and 18th centuries. Coming in a many variety of colors, the Collie is one of the most beautiful breeds. The stance in the Collie reflects it's high intelligance and gentle personality. Today, the collie has gained attention by becoming one of the most popular pets in the United States. It has been quoted as being "the ideal family companion."

   Collies are instinctively motivated to work and are always alert; traits of which makes the Collie highly trainable.The Collie falls into the working group of dogs. Even though, in today's world, the Collie may not get to exercise it's herding ablities, the natural instinct of devotion and protection is apparent as a role in the family life. This breed shows particular interest in small children and has proved to be a pleasant pet. 

  There are two varieties of Collies; Rough and Smooth. The more popular of the two being Rough. In both variaties, however, there are multiple colors; Sable and White, Blue Merle, Tricolored (Black, Tan, and/or White). Traditionally, most Collies have white collars, tipped ears, and a pointed snout.

   In the 1920's and  1930's the Collie rose to fame with the novels of Albert Payson Terhune. "Lassie", a Rough Sable and White Collie, was introduced in 1938 and won the hearts of many pet lovers. Her loyalty and devotion proves to be true throughout the years and she is still an attraction to new fans today. In, short, Collies are excellent pet and win the respect of pet owners around the world. 

   Crow's Collies is dedictated to breeding healthy, happy puppies. Our Collies have one-on-one handling and an adequete diet to suite their lifestyle. All puppies are AKC registered and their eyes are checked by a certified Opthomologist for Collie Eye Anomoly, unless they come from documented non-carrier parents. In Addition, Crow's Collies gives a one year health guarantee on all our puppies.
